Product Education Specialist

Pima Dermatology, PC, has proudly served the Tucson, Arizona community for over 30 years. We are currently seeking a full-time Product Education professional to join our thriving practice.

Our full-service, state-of-the art, 10,000+ square foot facility provides Adult, Pediatric and Cosmetic Dermatology as well as Laser and Skin Surgery services. We are an office-based surgical center accredited through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), making us the only full-service dermatology practice in Southern Arizona to earn this distinction.

We are offering a rewarding opportunity for a Product Education Specialist who possesses strong people and team-based skills. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with experience in a skin care or retail setting where product recommendations and sales played a central role in previous job(s), with a demonstrated track record of delivering five-star customer service experiences.

NATURE OF WORK: Provide patients with education on skin care products, prescription products, and makeup. Provide support in Medical and Cosmetic retail areas. Help to facilitate product sales and maintain inventory. Provide internal and external event and marketing support throughout the year.

1. Patient Education
Learn and maintain extensive knowledge of skin care products and Cosmetic and Medical Services provided by Pima Dermatology
Work with Provider recommendations and design a customized skin care product regimen for each patient based on their skin type and current/unique skin care condition and/or routine
Be available to discuss skin care products, prescriptions, and services with patients
Educate patients on the different cosmetic treatments offered, including realistic expectations and typical recovery time
Facilitate inquiries from potential product purchasers and/or potential patients; provide on-demand consultations, as needed, throughout the day

2. Makeup Consultation / Application
Educate patients on the Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup line
Color match and determine which foundation(s) work best for skin type
Provide proper color matching, recommendations, and application for additional makeup products
Be aware of patient skin conditions that would prohibit use / testing of the makeup
Follow safety and quality guidelines when applying makeup

3. Product Sales & Inventory
Facilitate sales; process sales transactions through POS sales and inventory tracking system, including product exchanges and returns
Assist with inventory and reordering on items such as skin care products, devices, hats, and makeup
Follow policy and procedural steps, conduct monthly inventory
Receive and process shipments; mail products to patients
Provide support and maintenance of the product areas, keeping spaces clean and organized
Work with Marketing & Product Manager to maintain a favorable appearance of products, testers, and brochures by displaying them in the patient education areas
Assist with ordering promotional marketing items

4. Product + Staff Support
Demonstrate proficient knowledge and appropriate use of NextGen 5 electronic charting systems complying with all HIPPA rules and regulations
Verify prescriptions on file and follow office policies to sell prescriptions
Assist staff in the distribution of all practice literature and brochures in treatment rooms and designated areas throughout the practice
Enhance staff professional growth and development through assisting Marketing & Product Manager with periodic in-service meetings and educational programs, and helping to coordinate quarterly office events with company account representatives
Assist Marketing & Product Manager in educating office staff about new and existing products

5. Internal and Community Event + Marketing Support
Provide support to the Marketing & Product Manager for projects, social media, in-services, new product launches, practice events, marketing events, community events and presentations
Work with the Marketing & Product Manager to coordinate and facilitate patient lunch & learns and promotional events
Work with the Marketing & Product Manager to coordinate booth designs, table displays, signage, raffle items, samples, giveaway items and marketing collateral for community events
Be available to staff community events during regular business hours as well as after-hours such as early mornings, late nights, and/or on weekends; activities would include but are not limited to: assisting with booth-setups and breakdowns

6. VISIA® Complexion Analysis
Facilitate photo analysis sessions to take patient pictures, generate percentages, and discuss scores
Use patient pictures to create a baseline for treatment tracking, and to demonstrate progression due to products and/or procedures
Provide support to Cosmetic and Medical Teams through conducting VISIA® sessions with patients throughout the day

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Knowledge of skin care products and makeup application
2. Skill in computer applications such as Microsoft Windows (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.), POS Product Management Systems, NextGen EPM and EMR, phone system, and variety of office equipment
3. Superior organizational and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work pleasantly and effectively with others
4. Creative, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven

Education:
1. High school diploma or GED

Experience: Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a health care organization or other skin care related environment. Proven experience in retail sales, product inventory, outreach, and marketing.

Alternative to Minimum Qualifications: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for one year of patient service experience in a health care environment
