Pima Dermatology is pleased to welcome Aleksi Hendricks, MD, to our practice. Dr. Hendricks is a board-certified dermatologist with a strong academic background and a patient-centered approach to care.
Dr. Hendricks is a native of San Diego and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in La Jolla, California, graduating cum laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed her transitional year internship at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program in Tucson, Arizona. She completed her dermatology residency training at the University of Arizona and during her final year, served as Chief Resident, reflecting her leadership, dedication, and clinical excellence. She is currently completing advanced fellowship training at the University of Arizona in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, a highly specialized subspecialty that further deepens her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Hendricks’ professional background demonstrates a longstanding dedication to research and teaching. She worked as a Staff Research Associate at the UCSD Moores Cancer Center Histology Core, where she contributed to multifaceted oncology research at a leading institution in cancer care. She also served as a Peer Writing Mentor at the UCSD Writing Center, supporting scientific writing and graduate school preparation. Throughout her residency and fellowship training, she has been actively involved with the University of Arizona Inflammatory & Aging Skin Research Program, serving as a sub-investigator for several clinical trials aimed at advancing dermatologic care for patients with inflammatory skin conditions.
She has contributed to an impressive number of publications, book chapters, review articles, case studies, and conference presentations, including manuscripts published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, and the British Journal of Dermatology, and presentations at meetings including the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting and the Pacific Dermatology Association Spring Training.
In recognition of her academic excellence, Dr. Hendricks received the University of Arizona Department of Medicine Outstanding Medical Student in Dermatology award and was a recipient of an NIH Medical Student Research Grant. She holds professional memberships with the Women’s Dermatologic Society, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and Phi Beta Kappa Society (Sigma of California Chapter, UCSD).
Dr. Hendricks loves getting to know her patients, making sure they feel comfortable, heard, and confident in their care. She thoughtfully evaluates each concern and crafts treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, aiming for the best possible results. Always learning and exploring the latest dermatology advances, she brings both expertise and genuine care to every visit.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hendricks enjoys exploring the beauty of the Southwest, hiking, gardening, discovering new local restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Dr. Hendricks will offer limited Saturday clinics on a monthly basis, starting in late January 2026.
