Pima Dermatology / Tucson, Arizona Hosts the National 10th Annual Laser Aesthetics Course
Tucson, Arizona, December 3, 2019 – Pima Dermatology, in partnership with American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS), is hosting nationally renowned laser surgeons, faculty, and students to advance the field of cutting-edge laser medicine and surgery. Summits of this caliber have historically been hosted in large, metropolitan cities like California, New York, and Florida, where prominent physicians and key thought leaders travel from all over the country to unite. The allure of Southern Arizona’s intimate setting and a long professional history with Gerald N. Goldberg, MD, Founder of Pima Dermatology and distinguished laser surgeon for over three decades, has redirected the annual course to Tucson. This fall, clinicians, scientists, and industry professionals who use or are investigating the use of lasers and other energy-based technologies will be taking their synergizing to new heights in the casual setting of the Old Pueblo.
Pima Dermatology, known as a leader in laser treatment and technology for over 35 years in Southern Arizona, will co-facilitate the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS) 10th Annual Laser Aesthetics Course December 7-8, 2019. Dr. Gerald Goldberg is this year’s Course Director. Pima Dermatology’s vast array of laser modalities pair seamlessly with the national Laser Aesthetics Course, updated in 2019 with a new format that now includes direct, hands-on training in a clinic setting. Laser titans in the industry – Gerald N. Goldberg, MD (Dermatologist and Laser Surgeon at Pima Dermatology, two-time recipient of the nation’s most distinguished awards in laser medicine and Clinical Professor of Dermatology & Pediatrics at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center), J. Stuart Nelson, MD, PhD (Professor of Surgery and Biomedical Engineering at the University of California-Irvine, and Medical Director of the Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic), Emil A. Tanghetti, MD (Owner of Center for Dermatology and Laser Surgery in Sacramento, California), and Victor Ross, MD (Director of the Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology Center at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California), will lead the two-day, hands-on laser course utilizing Pima Dermatology’s 10,400 square foot laser center.
The two-day sessions will focus on topics that cover: Non-Ablative Laser Rejuvenation, Intense Pulse Light (IPL), Laser Treatment of Vascular Lesions, Pigmented Lesions, Scars, and Tattoos as well as Laser Hair Removal, Fractional Ablative and Full Field Ablative CO2 and Erbium Facial Resurfacing, Non-Invasive Body Contouring, Fat Reduction, Skin Tightening, Laser Complications and Laser Safety, Combining Lasers and Devices to Enhance Outcomes, and Combining Laser and Energy Sources with Cosmetic Injectables. “What is special about this meeting is the high-quality didactic lectures with a great faculty and the small group feel which maximizes the participant experience and creates a stimulating interactive learning environment, said Goldberg. “The added bonus this year is to include some live patient demonstrations as well as an opportunity to have some ‘hands-on’ experience with a number of lasers in a private practice clinical setting.”
The live demos taking place at Pima Dermatology on Sunday, December 8 will utilize Pima Dermatology’s extensive portfolio of lasers and devices, including: Candela’s AlexTrivantage and VBEAM Perfecta platforms, Cynosure’s Starlux and Elite platforms, Cutera’s Excel V, Sciton’s Halo and Profractional modalities, Astanza’s Q-Plus technology, DEKA’s Dot platform, and Allergan’s dual sculpting Coolsculpting technology. Dr. Goldberg and Pima Dermatology’s owners, Sarah Schram, MD and Matthew Beal, MD, alongside Pima Dermatology’s Physician Assistant, Jennifer Allison, PA, and talented team of laser technicians and cosmetic providers will work together with esteemed national colleagues, Drs. Nelson, Tanghetti, and Ross, to demonstrate and perform various treatments on patients.
