Matthew W. Beal, MD, FAAD, Dermatologist and Laser Surgeon, is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Beal joined Pima Dermatology in 2013 and is the Medical Director and Co-Owner of the practice.
Dr. Beal has extensive experience in all aspects of dermatology, including medical and surgical treatment of skin cancers and diseases, laser surgery, and laser skin rejuvenation. He received expansive training in laser skin rejuvenation and complex treatments with Gerald Goldberg, MD, founder of Pima Dermatology and world-renowned Laser Surgeon. Dr. Beal creates innovative protocols for complicated conditions and is tenacious in finding solutions for patients.
Dr. Beal is a Tucson, Arizona native and earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, he graduated at the top of his class. He completed his Dermatology Residency at the University Of Minnesota, where he served as Chief Resident his final year.
Dr. Beal is published and has lectured and presented on a national level at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota Dermatological Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the University of Arizona, and at the American Academy of Dermatology’s Annual Meeting. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and also Alpha Omega Alpha, and is the past President of the Tucson Dermatology Society.
Dr. Beal is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona. He hosts medical students and residents monthly at Pima Dermatology to impart important skills to the next generation of dermatologists. He has received various awards for his academic and professional achievements which include, “Most Outstanding Clinical Research Endeavor” in 2013 and “Commitment to Underserved People Award” in 2009.
Dr. Beal is an avid University of Arizona Wildcats fan, enthusiastically attending as many football and basketball games as possible. His interests include reading, travel, and college athletics. Dr. Beal’s warmth, compassion, and sense of humor lend well to his expertise in the delivery of quality patient-centered care.
