Tucson, AZ, May 17, 2019 – Gerald N. Goldberg, MD, Laser Surgeon, Dermatologist, and Founder of Pima Dermatology in Tucson, Arizona, is the 2019 recipient of the Ellet H. Drake Memorial Award. This lifetime achievement award honors Dr. Goldberg for his masterful contributions to the field of laser and energy-based medical devices. This is one of the highest level of awards that can be received in the world of Lasers. The recognition is especially momentous as Dr. Goldberg won the Leon Goldman Award in 2017.
Presented to Dr. Goldberg on March 29, 2019 in Denver, Colorado at the 39th Annual Conference of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS), this award honors him for his tremendous work in Lasers. This award was established in 1995 to recognize a practicing physician who has contributed to innovative laser procedures and/or laser products for medicine. It is given in memory of Ellet Drake, MD, co-founder of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Board Certified in Pediatrics and Dermatology, Dr. Goldberg has over 30 years of experience as a Dermatologist and Laser Surgeon. His career has been dedicated to skin enhancement and complicated conditions ranging from challenging vascular birthmarks in children to extreme rhinophyma. He also dramatically transforms sun-damaged and aged skin with his life-changing laser skin resurfacing treatments. This has led to global recognition and international praise for his expertise in Laser medicine; he is certified in more than 25 Laser modalities. Dr. Goldberg is also a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics at the University of Arizona and has been educating and training Dermatology Resident Physicians for over three decades.

Gerald N. Goldberg, MD is a Princeton University graduate and received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse. He completed his Residency in Pediatrics and a Fellowship in Dermatology at the University of Arizona. He has published widely in medical literature, speaks French and Spanish, and lectures internationally on a variety of Laser related topics. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He has served on the Board of the Sturge-Weber Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Southern Arizona Chapter, and is the past President of the Arizona Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Society (ADDSS), the Tucson Dermatology Society, and the Sonoran Dermatology Society.
